OM SYSTEM's OM-5 is likely to be announced within this month. The image sensor is the same as the OM-1, a back-illuminated stacked CMOS sensor with about 20 million pixels, and the image processing engine is also the same. Continuous shooting is said to be 15 frames per second, but it is unclear whether it is an electronic shutter or a mechanical shutter. Perhaps the mechanical shutter will be omitted. The recording media is a single UHS-II slot, unlike the OM-1's SDUHS-II double slot. This is thought to make the body smaller and lighter. The EVF has about 3.6 million dots, which is high resolution for this class. It is powered by the same BLX-1 lithium-ion battery as the OM-1. The grip is larger than the OM-1, making it easier to hold. Another thing to note is whether the dust-proof and drip-proof structure will be the same as the OM-DE-M5 MarkIII. It's nice to be able to enjoy shooting with less rolling shutter distortion with a Micro Four Thirds camera. The only thing left to be seen is the price, which is expected to be around $1,600. Naturally, functions such as Live Composite, Live NDm, Depth Stacking, and Pro Capture will be inherited. This will be the second OMDS camera, but I'd like to see some surprises.
